How Do I Sell My RV Online? Where Do I Begin?

In this day and age it’s a little bit strange for many to think that there are some who are still not comfortable completing transactions online. There are still those out there who would rather keep their old RV than sell it online. I have to admit that I was one of those. I did not understand the advantages if I were to sell my RV online. I was a traditional, sign in the window, ad in the classifieds type of girl.

I don’t think it would have crossed my mind at all that I could sell my RV online if a friend hadn’t offered to help me get started. After he did, I felt a bit silly. There was absolutely no reason why I couldn’t have gotten online and taken care of everything I needed all by myself. The only thing I needed in addition to the information in my head was a picture. And I think it’s obvious to all of us how much more exposure my RV got as a sales item with its picture on an RV trading website. I think we all realize how many more people saw my signs.

In addition to the added numbers of people seeing my sign because I decided to sell my RV online, the hassle was a lot less because it didn’t drag on forever. I didn’t have people happening by and just wanting to see what the inside of an RV looks like. The people who got online to check out the RV Trading site were actually interested in purchasing an RV; which was perfect because mine was there because I had decided to sell my RV online. What a team we made. I wanted to sell my RV online, so I put it on a website where people go when they want to purchase a used RV. Great thinking on both our parts!

I also paid less than I would have if I were to sell it by putting an ad in the paper. The RV trading web sites made it so easy to sell my RV online that I wonder what I was ever doing with the newspaper classifieds. Does anyone read those anymore? The listing online cost me less, and sold my RV faster. They gave me all the info I needed in order to sell my RV online all by myself. I just had never done it before and thought that was enough reason to avoid the entire process.

Now that I’ve done it, I can see the logic. Traditionally, I would put a sign in the window on both sides of my RV and park it somewhere people would see it. When I decide to sell online, I put signs in the windows, and park it somewhere somebody will see it AND take pictures to post online. It was a win, win situation. Most sites have various options you can add that will help your recreational vehicle sell faster, but a typical basic listing includes several pictures (and an optional link to your own website that can contain as many pictures as you’d like) and there is no word limit for your item description in most cases. You pay a flat fee (depending on which site you use) and you are set. You can add little features on if you’d like to up the visibility of your item, but it’s not always necessary.

The process I went through to sell my RV online was embarrassingly simple; considering I was afraid to tackle it initially. So, if you are thinking about selling your RV online, I’m here to say . . . go for it! I took me a while to decide to sell my RV online and I can now say that the pain of worrying about it is one hundred times worse than actually going through the simple steps. The sites are made for people like me. They have frequently asked questions links with questions even more simplistic and basic than any I would ever have asked . . . and I can be pretty basic. They have explicitly detailed instructions on how to set up your listing and go about selling your recreational vehicle using their services. There is nothing you have to worry about. They have it all figured out for you before they even know you’re coming!
